Linkedin, the social networking site for professionals has recently reached 50 million users. You may be one of them but are you using it correctly? Here are some tips to help you get started on Linkedin.
Linkedin is about building professional relationships so make sure you take the time to fill out your profile and include a photo. This gives people an insight to who you are and what you do.
When building up your connections, it is a good idea to:
- Use Linkedin groups. You can “meet” people with similar interests and connect with them.
- Link from your other sites, blogs and social networks. This will allow you to connect with professionals you already know.
- Create a unique URL, which should be your full name so that others can find you easily in Google search.
